It's Football Time in Tennessee!!!

Wish that I was on ole Rocky Top,Down in the Tennessee Hills. Ain't no smoggy smoke on Rocky Top, Ain't no telephone bills.

Once there was a girl on Rocky Top, Half bear the other half cat.Wild as a mink, sweet as soda pop, I still dream about that.

Rocky top, you'll always be Home sweet Home to me.Good ole Rocky Top, Rocky Top Tennessee, Rocky Top Tennessee.

Once two strangers climbed on Rocky Top, Lookin' for a moonshine still.Strangers ain't come back from Rocky Top, Guess they never will.

Corn won't grow at all on Rocky Top, Dirt's too rocky by far. That's why all the folks on Rocky Top get their corn from a jar.

Rocky Top, you'll always beHome sweet home to me. Good ole Rocky Top, Rocky Top Tennessee, Rocky Top Tennessee.

Now I've had years of cramped up city life,Trapped like a duck in a pen. Now all I know is it's a pity life Can't be simple again.

Rocky Top, you'll always be Home sweet Home to me. Good ole Rocky Top,Rocky Top Tennessee, Rocky Top Tennessee.

Another day with Dad, another unapproved outfit:)

Cade and Heath spent Saturday morning together. Since they were headed over to the farm, Heath thought this (redneck) outfit would be most appropriate:

A special thanks to his "Aunt Gin Gin" for the new hunting hat:)!

First trip to the Wilson County Fair

Cade made his first trip to the Wilson County Fair last night. For those who don't know, the fair here is the biggest in the state, and has lots of rides, shows, displays, livestock and our favorite- fair food:)! In this picture, we are standing in front of the John Deere Model B tractor originally owned by Cade's great great grandfather, Henry Thorne ("Pap"). Now the tractor stays out at his grandparent's (Rick and Pam's) farm, so I am sure he will take many rides on it with his own Pap! Even with the heat, we had a good time. Cade loved strolling and looking at the lights. I am sure that this will be the first of many fair trips for the Thorne family!

What happens when you leave baby alone with Daddy:)

So I came home from a Kroger run the other day, only to find that Heath had turned Cade into an honorary Crip a la Snoop Dogg... they both though it was hilarious!

Four months old

First Four months

Well, it has been a little over four months since mine and Heath's lives were turned upside down!:) Cade William Thorne made his grand appearance on March 23, 2007 after 12 hours of labor. He weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. and was 19 inches long.
Two weeks ago at his four month check up, he came in at a whopping 16 lbs. 14 oz. (90th percentile) and was 24 inches long. So much has happened since March. Cade had his first smile at about 5 weeks. While they were sporadic at first, now he can't quit smiling (he especially loves to smile at his daddy).

We made our first beach trip when he was three months old to St. George Island, Fl with my family. Cade loves the water, and would lounge or sleep on the beach as long as he was in the shade and a good ocean breeze was blowing.

I started back to work last month. While it was hard to leave my baby (and hard to function since he still isn't quite sleeping through the night), he has been thriving at "school!" He loves watching the other babies, and gets a good "report card" everyday.:) His favorite friend at school right now is a little boy named Evan who goes to our church. Miss Donna (his teacher) will sit them in bouncy seats side by side and they just stare at each other- lifelong friends already!

I have noticed in the last few weeks that he is really taking off in his developmental skills. He is becoming more aware of his surroundings all the time. He loves his Baby Einstein exersaucer, and is getting into playing with toys more. I also think that teeth may be in the near future, as he really loves to chew on things and has become quite a drool factory.

A few weeks ago, we started trying solid foods. So far, he really enjoys rice cereal and loves loves loves sweet potatoes! Peas are okay with him, but he hates green beans (he spits them out and cries!) He loves to eat (as is evident in his rolls;). Now if we could just get this sleep thing licked...

I guess that is it for now. I will try to update as often as possible. Cade truly is the light of our lives and is growing so fast!
