Food for Thought

"Children are a gift from the Lord. They are a reward from Him." Psalm 127:3

I came across this Psalm today and realized that no matter how frustrating being a parent can occasionally be (with teething, sickness, etc.), how can you look at a face like this and not feel completely rewarded every day?

Continue to remember Talor!

Sweet Talor had her heart surgery on Tuesday at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. They started first thing in the morning, and she was in there for over five hours. They were able to open up her aorta (which had been narrowing), but are still concerned that she is not quite getting enough blood flow to her feet. After spending two nights in ICU, she was sent home. Her grandmother, Anita, told me that she has been such a trooper through this whole ordeal, and has been calm and done her very best to not be too scared. I would say that is pretty impressive for a seven year old (I doubt that I could do that at 27!) Please continue to pray for her and her family during this time of recovery, as we know that God is the ultimate Healer!

11 Months Old Today!

Snow Day!

My first snow

He was a little confused about the snowflakes hitting his face...

Chillin' in my snowsuit:)

This is what we woke up to this morning. Of course, most of it was gone by the afternoon, but it is still FREEZING here! Last week it was almost 70 degrees with thunderstorms, this week it is 25 degrees with snow. Gotta love the Tennessee weather! Cade loved the snow, and kept looking outside long after we came in.

Swim Class

Cade and I started a Mommy & Me swim class today. At first, he wasn't so sure about the whole thing, but after just a few minutes, he was having a great time. We worked on kicking, floating on his back, and he even went under twice! He will be a little fish by summer.:)
Getting used to the water

Working on the back stroke...not quite sure about it yet...

Getting better

Worn out from all the fun!

Please pray for Talor!

Some of our very good friends, Trent and Lesli, found out last Friday that their 7 year old daughter, Talor, has to have open heart surgery. She spent three nights at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital to be evaluated and monitored, and thankfully was able to go home yesterday. They will meet with the pediatric cardiologist on Friday to decide some of the specifics of her surgery. Please keep Talor and her family in your prayers. She is one of the sweetest little girls we know, and we love her so much (she and Heath are especially big buddies- he has kept her several times while the mamas were shopping and they bonded over video games and Sponge Bob:). It is going to be a long road to recovery for her and her parents, not to mention a huge life change. But we all know that through the power of prayer God can work wonders!
