One of the best days of my life...what an amazing and fun filled three years it has been!

Chuck E. Cheese!

Cade has found his other favorite mouse- Chuck E. Cheese! We took him last night for his very first visit, and he loved it, of course. Talk about major sensory overload! He especially enjoyed all of the little kiddie token rides, but seemed just as happy to sit on them without them moving. He is really trying to talk now, and likes to try to say what you say. On the ride home, I kept asking him if he liked Chuck E. Cheese, to which he would reply, "Ch Ch!" He is very good with his first syllable sounds, even if the rest of the word does not come out. I would say that our trip there was a success, but I am definitely glad that he is not old enough yet to ask to go back:)!

"Whoa, Daddy! Look at that mouse!"

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all of the dads and soon-to-be dads out there. And a very special Father's Day wish to sweet Heath...you have been a better dad than I ever could have imagined. You have stood right by my side as we learned about parenthood together. You have never been scared to change a diaper or clean up spit up, throw up, etc. Cade and I are so blessed to have you. You are his favorite playmate! You lead both of us by great example, and are such a wonderful provider. It is truly my prayer that our son grow into as wonderful of a man as you are. So Happy Father's Day- you deserve it!Just born

Randomness...

Nothing too major has been going on, but I did want to have at least one blog update this week, so I just decided to post some of the different pictures I have made recently. First, due to the sweltering heat, we have really been taking advantage of the pool. Thank goodness Cade loves the water, because it is about the only way I can bear to be outside for too long. Last Saturday we made a trip to the pool with the Crockett triplets. All of the babies did great, and Ian Thomas and Campbell were so relaxed that they even fell asleep in their floats. I am sure that our group was a sight to see:

Also last Saturday, Heath and I went to the 25th Phoenix Ball, which benefits Cumberland University. Last year was the first time we had ever been, but I was still really sleep deprived thanks to having a ten week old. This year, we had some great babysitters (Thanks Aunt Debi, Houston, Elliot and Jim!), and were able to stay out later and enjoy ourselves a bit more. This is the only picture I took of the two of us (sad, I know), but I had to post it since we probably won't attend another black tie function until next year's ball:

This picture makes me laugh. For some reason, Cade really loves Mickey Mouse, and especially enjoys the "Hot Dog Song" at the end of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (he pays absolutely no attention to the show until the very end when that song comes on). Heath's friend Scott and his wife Kristy sent this get up to Cade for his birthday, and he loves it!

Cade usually takes a while to get to sleep, especially for naps. I guess he was extra tired one day, because I was checking my emails and realized that he was being really quiet. I looked over to see this. I was scared to wake him, so he slept like that for over two hours!
Finally, for all of you Nashvillians: you MUST try Gigi's cupcakes. It is a cupcake bakery located on Broadway and is absolutely delicious! She does different flavors everyday, but if you ask me, they all look like a piece of heaven! This is what Heath brought home on Tuesday:

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Viva Las Vegas!

Last week, Heath and I took an early anniversary trip (almost three years!) to Las Vegas. Heath had never been before, and I had been once for a tradeshow when I worked for Nokia, so we were so excited to go and experience some of the Las Vegas fun. The weather was absolutely perfect- a very dry 85 degrees during the days, so we got a lot of pool time. One of our favorite things was the "Water Ballet" at the Bellagio. If you have ever seen Ocean's Eleven, then you know what I am talking about. We loved the show we went to see, KA. It is a Cirque du Soleil show at the MGM Grand. I have honestly never seen anything so amazing. Las Vegas is such a cool city. We had a great time (although Heath never did get to hang out with Paris Hilton like he had hoped. Apparently she was not in town. Sorry honey, maybe next time!). But of course, by the end of the week, we were ready to get home to our little guy! Thanks to all the grandparents who helped keep up with him while we were gone. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the trip:

Water Ballet
Our Hotel- great choice with a great pool!
Hot stuff;)
Paris
Dolphin at the Siegfried and Roy Habitat- you could walk right up to the edge of the pool...

New York, New York
Fountains at Caesar's Palace
Looks like the tiger got Heath, too!
The Wynn- one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen!

Pool at the Mirage
Beatles' Revolution Lounge
Headed out to dinner
The ENORMOUS lion at MGM

During the light show

This picture cracks me up. Our hotel had a replica of NYC's world famous Carnegie Deli. We knew they were famous for big sandwiches, but did not realize how big. This is half of the sandwich. There were literally 14 ounces of turkey on it. For the record, we do not eat that much lunch meat at our house in a week! Ha!
